Train to Oświęcim

Konzentrationslager Auschwitz (help·info)) was the largest of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camps. Located in southern Poland, it took its name from the nearby town of Oświęcim (Auschwitz in German), situated about 50 kilometers west of Kraków and 286 kilometers from Warsaw. Following the German occupation of Poland in September 1939, Oświęcim was incorporated into Germany and renamed Auschwitz.

Hazey Jane

Do you feel like a remnant
Of something that's past
Do you find things are moving
Just a little too fast.
Do you hope to find new ways
Of quenching your thirst,
Do you hope to find new ways
Of doing better than your worst.
Hey slow Jane, let me prove
Slow, slow Jane, we're on the move.

Piers Gill

"A baby of 14 months became the youngest person to be rescued from England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, after his family embarked on an insane climbing expedition.Rescuers were called out when the mother, father, baby son and five year old, got into difficulty. Piers Gill, where the family were found, is a very large ravine with a lot of rocks waterfalls and sheer 200ft sides". The Times February 21st 2007.
"Scafell Pike is one of a horseshoe of high fells, open to the south, which surrounds the head of Eskdale. It stands on the western side of the cirque with Sca Fell to the south and Great End to the north. This ridge forms the watershed between Eskdale and Wasdale, which lies to the west". Wikipedia

J and A

Synaesthesia is a joining together of sensations that are normally experienced separately.
Some synaesthetes experience colours when they hear or read words, whilst others may experience tastes, smells, shapes or touches in almost any combination.
The sensations are automatic and cannot be turned on or off.
People are generally born with it and it runs in families.
It is not considered to be harmful in any way.
Most synaesthetes could not imagine life without these extra sensations!".

Escape

Sargasso Sea

The Sargasso Sea, which is very salty, is often regarded as being lifeless, though it is home to some seaweed of the genus Sargassum. This seaweed floats en masse on the surface there.

WIDE SARGASSO SEA, Jean Rys - The opening of the novel is set a short while after the emancipation of the slaves in British-owned Jamaica. The protagonist Antoinette conveys the story of her life from childhood to her arranged marriage to an unnamed Englishman (Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre). As she realizes that Mr. Rochester does not love her, Antoinette (whom he renames Bertha) descends into madness. The novel ends in England, with Bertha's fateful decision to burn down the estate and jump off the roof. (Wikipedia)
